Affordable Art Fair and drinks
!It took me a month and two drinks to write this down but it was worth it.
London is the home of many fairs. Fun fair, scary fair, un-fair, art fair…so I decided to give it a go after having experienced the three first ones and went to the Affordable Art Fair. Claims to be an art fair with pieces under £3,000…and yes the most expensive ones were £2,999…right on.
Love some, hate others but the best was the crowd. Particularly the so-aspiring art collectors minutioulsy scrutining every art works in the secret hope to find a divine pearl. The young artists thrilling for their pieces to end up in a dental practices. And the best among all, the finance guy and his Barbie doll. “I like it babe” he said, starring at a deer face arranged with old pieces of newspaper and fake lashes but keeping the spirit of the “hunting treasure” of some old country pal’ hunting for the thrill.
Hum yes it was a productive night during which I discovered that art is better appreciated when one is tipsy. That is then why you always have drinks for private views and exhibition shows. Alcohol is good for loads of things, including making you buy pieces of s*.
