Mind the Asteroids & her friends
For my last concert as a student, I went with my dear friend to see The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. After an endless journey with the midget-subway, we were finally there. Fighting the rain and rushing to get tickets, we were back where we were 5 years earlier for our very first concert as students. (That was The Kills ! At that time we were party freaks, dancing in this smoky dark venue. Now we are just older and restless). We did not know the bands but somehow the names sounded cooool and colourful.
Colourful might not be the best word to describe Giana Factory’s art. Quite dark and very lesbian-style (not to mention the dresscode and hairdos), their music brings you deep down in your heart. Repetitive rythms and smooth voices with “basic” instrumental side dishes, the songs are easy to enjoy. There something of ‘The XX’ in the way they combine voices and bass lines. But if you can not overcome your November blues, it might be better to stick to your Xmas Choco-Calendar.;

Being a TV orphan since 2 years, I did not know that “On the bend” was used for an Ipod Ad. The Asteroids Galaxy Tour is not only an unsual name it is a glabibulgua of instruments and feelings. It made me think of a jazzy circus recording the new soundtrack of a get-high-on-life-movie. (yes i am not an english native..) What I mean is that their songs are really colourful and groovy. You just want to listen to them walking on a pier with the sun shining behind you OR by a cold and rainy day when you’re surrounded by brickwalls and the fog OR when you decide to be high-on-life with the little help of high heels.!
