Blooming Thoughts

Why do fashion blogs are blooming these days?

But the first thing to address will be: what the “ is a fashion blog? Is it a personal platform where to share opinions and crushes on fashion items, designers or trends? Is it the online window of your very own style?

Ones could argue that fashion blogs are becoming the shopping window of many brands including prestigious designers and fashion houses. As they do no longer spot unknown designers with high seductive potential towards fashionistas and “mainstream” ones, it is quite true. Moreover some of them are financially supported and others are key marketing targets to which brands are sending brand new products. How could you pretend to be a voice of fashion when you do no longer wander the streets and dig into creepy shops to be the luckily happy discoverer of a £5 vintage bag?

Fashion blogs are to be an open platform where to find inspiration, testimonies of breakthrough trends happening in strange named cities (Berlin is not an option but Kopanica is!) and unusual fashion observations.
There is currently a kind of standardization in fashion blogs. Since one person discover the power of photography and the psychic trigger of fashion identification, everyone aims to be a trendsetter (or to be spotted like one).

By pretending finding fashionable persons in our streets they make you (me? Us? Them?) feel like you could be discover too! You could be a fashion spotter too! You could be the new face of X or Y! But also that you are constantly observed and disregarded.

In our modern ages of immediate rewards and impatient hunger for fame, everyone aims to enjoy those 15 minutes…or 2 second clicking time. Just walking in the street all dressed up to buy milk will not help you become the new best online thing.

Someone set this trend for you, set yourself a trend.

(By the way this is not a fashion blog…)
